I tried out with a little adjustment. The result is good. So I am going to record it down based on what I used this time.

My basic ingredients : Japanese cucumber 430 grams.
I have also added some cooked black fungus.

Salting ingredients.
0.75 teaspoon salt.
0.75 teaspoon sugar.

Seasoning ingredients.
1 tablespoon light soya sauce.
1.5 tablespoon vinegar.
1.5 tablespoon sugar.
4 cloves garlic.
1 stalk green onion, chopped (if available)
1 red chilli, cut into bigger pieces so that it will not be too spicy.

Before serving.
0.75 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds. 
0.5 teaspoon sesame oil.

If we compare the ingredients by Made with Lau, I have left out bell peppers, cilantro, chilli sauce. Instead I added a piece of red chilli, cut in big pieces so that it is not too spicy, while maintaing the clear taste.


1st, wash the skin of cucumbers before we cut them. 
Refering to Made with Lau video, partially skin cucumbers, remove seeds, smack the cucumbers, then cut in 1/2 inches thick diagonally. 
Salt cucumbers by adding 0.75 teaspoon salt and sugar.
Leave it to stand for 30 minutes.

Prepar the seasoning sauce.
1 tablespoon light soya sauce.
1.5 tablespoon vinegar.
1.5 tablespoon sugar.
4 Cloves of garlic. Chopped finely.
1 stalk green onion, chopped (if available, I can ignore if I don't have them)
1 red chilli, cut into bigger pieces so that it will not be too spicy.
Taste test to our liking before using it.

After 30 minutes, drain off excess liquid from cucumber.

I am adding some cooked black fungus today.

Place seasoning sauce into fungus and cucumber.
Toss or mix until well mixed.

Lastly add in sesame oil and sesame seeds. Toss and Smashed Cucumber Salad is ready.
